CRITERION A

Problem: -

The problem which I choose is Online Sales Tracking as it helps us find out the percentage of how a product is selling rapidly or how a product is not at all trending.

Inquiring and Justifying: -

Online sales tracking is also important while a person is running a store so that he can easily check the stock of a particular product. We can keep a track of Cost per item, Percent Markup, Total Sold, Total Revenue, Shipping charges, Profit per item, Returns, Total Income and forecast. If a man doesn’t use online sales tracking in his/her shop, he could have problems. For example, if a costumer comes at your shop and you do not have the product which he wants and because of this you will lose a costumer. If you use online sales tracking, you can check the stock of a product and pre-order them. As we all know, no human is perfect and can make mistakes. Therefore, there is a need of a solution here, if we use this method of online sales tracking there is a 90% chance of no mistakes. This could make a huge difference as it will be better coordinated, organized and close more sales.

Ø How can Microsoft Excel help manage online sales tracks?

Ø To what extent does Microsoft Excel help forecast your revenue using online sales tracks?

Ø  Is Microsoft Excel only the solution for this problem?

Ø How can this problem effect the people if there was no solution for it?

Ø  How can Microsoft Excel spreadsheet help a shop keeper manage his resources?

These are the two questions which are of high priority to me and I will try my best to answer them: -

1.     To what extent does Microsoft Excel help forecast your revenue using online sales tracks?

As reporting and reviewing the results is very important while business, forecasting and being prepared for different scenarios is also important. Microsoft Excel is a great app and can be used while stimulating financial projections by using past data. Excel can also use a chart’s data set to create a formula which can be used to calculate future values. By this feature of Excel, you can be prepared for any of the changes that might happen in the future and will also increase the chances of your profits in future.

2.     How can Microsoft Excel spreadsheet help a shop keeper manage his resources?

A Microsoft Excel spreadsheet can be really helpful for a shop keeper as it shows the detailed lists for their stocks. Shop keeper can also record the sales of a product, how much is it selling and how much is it not selling and accordingly changes stocks. Shop keepers can also use spreadsheets to identify their financial status and forecast their finances. They can also calculate daily profit or loss. Spreadsheets can also be used to calculate various sums like addition, subtraction, multiplication or division which could be helpful for shop keepers to work out their profit and loss margins. To conclude, Microsoft Excel is an easy and convenient way with fewer mistakes.

Analyzing the spreadsheet: -

This spreadsheet would be of a great value for all the shop keepers as it includes all of the needs which a shop keeper wants to run a business. This spreadsheet includes Cost per item, percent markup, total revenue, shipping cost, profit, returns and total income and these aspects are very important for a shop keeper. This spreadsheet also includes a pie graph and and a bar graph which will give the person a visual representation and the person can understand his financial status better. This graph will also show how much a product is trending and how a product does not have demand. This will help a shop keeper change stocks accordingly and make more profit.

Improving the spreadsheet: -

One of the main improvement we can add here in the spreadsheet are columns. We can add a column named “Finance Forecasting” which will help the shop keeper be ready for all of the scenarios in the future and increase the chances of making profit in the future. As I said, one of the weakness of this spreadsheet is the column “Finance Forecasting” which is not present in the spreadsheet and if we add that, it would be a lot easier and better for the shop keepers so that they can be ready for any scenarios in the future.

Design Brief: -

Objective and Goals: - The main goal/objective of this spreadsheet is to make work easier for the shop keepers. This spreadsheet will help shop keepers manage their financial status as it has all of the things included which are mandatory for a business to run. This spreadsheet will increase the chances of profit as it also has a feature of Finance Forecasting which will be of a great help to a shop keeper.

Target Audience: - The target audience for this spreadsheet is mainly the shop keepers and all the middle class people who are running their business’s. It is mainly for shop keepers as it has concepts and aspects of running a business properly. This spreadsheet can also go to the big company owners as they also have their business’s. This spreadsheet will also help shop keepers to manage their cash.

Project Scope: - This spreadsheet is very important for the target audience as it helps us a lot in business using the application Microsoft Excel. This spreadsheet has all the of the aspects a business is needed and because of this I think this spreadsheet is really important for the target audience.

Available Materials: - For this scenario, the business has just started and the graphic designer does not have enough materials for the business to run. The only thing he has is Microsoft Excel and not enough materials.
